A science of reading course and program for Libraries, Community Hubs & Beyond

Page Partners

Building on the successful partnerships initiated through the Mini Grant program, IDA Ontario is excited to work with public libraries and community organizations as they strengthen and optimize their volunteer-supported reading programs to meet the needs of all children. With this vision, Page Partners programs are grounded in the science of reading and align with the Ontario Human Rights Commission’s Right to Read Inquiry.

Community-based programs play a vital role in reaching children who have been historically underserved or who have experienced challenges developing reading fluency and confidence. Page Partners provides facilitators with simple, structured tools and evidence-based instructional strategies that help ensure every child has access to meaningful, effective literacy support — whether in a library, community hub, recreation centre, after-school program, or youth organization.

Why this matters?

  • Increase Literacy Rates: Implement science-backed literacy practices to support struggling readers.
  • Empower Community Organizations: Equip staff with knowledge and tools to foster literacy in their communities.
  • Strengthen Communities: Increased literacy rates leads to more engaged and informed citizens.
